ABSTRACT:
Cyber war is an emerging digital threat which sets its root firmly without even giving a chance of doubt to the opponent. Once the whole destruction is being executed, people come to know about the severity and loss.
The Ukraine war broke out in the month of February 24th, 2022. This was a hybrid war which literally consisted of two different parts, namely the physical war and the cyber war. This hybrid war has caused a major setback when it comes to the infrastructural cybersecurity worldwide.
This war has drastically changed the view of each and every person when it comes to cyber war. It is becoming a major threat that the world has not yet seen. In Ukraine, people were only aware about the physical war visible to them in front of their eyes. But at the backend, there was a much stronger version of war, which could have wiped out even their existence, but many were unaware. The whole Ukrainian governmental sites, embedded systems and all general computing and networking systems were targeted by the Russian government and they tried implementing a malware known as Wiper Malware.
The destruction in Ukraine was executed via wiper malware, a very powerful type of malware that wipes out all the data without even leaving a trace of its existence. In this chapter, we are going to describe and go through the various kinds of wiper malware, like caddy, hermetic, Isaac whisper gate, whisper kill, double zero and acid....
